This festival is to celebrate the spirit of everyone's favorite SuperHero and what he stands for. The town of Plano, IL, USA welcomes summer with the first annual Smallville SUPERFEST celebration on August 17, 18, and 19, 2012. This year’s celebration offers fun-filled events such as Main Street SUPERZIP, BBQ dinner, Smallville photo display, fishing with the mayor, Smallville scavenger hunt, country market, food vendors, parade, live bands, and much more. All of these activities are located in downtown Plano on Main Street. In the summer of 2011, Warner Brothers and DC Comics chose Plano, IL to represent “Smallville” in the 2013 Superman movie "Man of Steel" - a special place where a certain “super hero” came to Earth and spent his childhood days. It was here in Smallville that a “mild-mannered” boy learned the value of Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
